AFRICAN DANCES

FROM GUINEA

Valentín Rodríguez
From 16:30 to 18:00
Over 14 years old

The workshop is conceived as a space for training and research into the body and movement, focused on African dances—especially those from Guinea—with an emphasis on their technical and expressive aspects. The diversity and uniqueness of movements in these cultural expressions from Guinea Conakry stem from the variety of ethnic groups originating from different popular and rural communities, each with its own memories and symbolic universes. Music and dance are used in festivities and ceremonies that mark different stages and moments of life, and they are part of the daily life of these communities, both in rural areas and large cities.
