Synopsis
Drawing on the imagery of the casteller world, ALETA revisits the richness of this Catalan tradition filled with values, powerful imagery, and intense emotions. Dance and tradition come together in a proposal that highlights culture, roots, and territory, where movement becomes a tool for sharing collective rituals that remind us who we are, where we come from, and where we are going.
Biography
Marc Fernández (Vilafranca del Penedès, 1988) trained professionally at ÀREA, Espai de Dansa i Creació, graduating in Contemporary Dance in 2011. Since then, he has developed an international career as a performer, working with companies such as Alexander Whitley Dance Company (United Kingdom), Tanz&Kunst Königsfelden (Switzerland), and Compagnie Peter Agardi (France), as well as with several companies across Spain. He was nominated for the Premi Butaca for Best Male Dance Performer for Rèquiem (Crea Dance Company). In 2022, he began a new stage as performer-creator with (ÍOR), a duet for street and non-conventional spaces that explores partnering and contact work as a metaphor for balance and cooperation.
