Sinopsis

An evening full of contemporary circus featuring disciplines such as trapeze, Cyr wheel, juggling, and acrobatics. The show combines technique, risk, and humor, while also incorporating a solidarity dimension with a food collection for people in vulnerable situations.

Bring non-perishable food to collaborate with the Solidarity and Circus Night. NOMEN is donating 1,000 kg of rice. All collected food will be distributed between Caritas Diocesana and the Red Cross.

Biography

Marica Marinoni (Milan, 1995) trained in competitive trampoline before turning toward contemporary circus. She studied at FLIC Scuola di Circo and graduated from the Centre National des Arts du Cirque, specializing in Cyr wheel. She has worked with Les filles du renard pâle and created the solo Lontano and the duet In Difference. In 2024 she received the Grand Prix at the Festival Mondial du Cirque de Demain.

Yvonne Smink is a multiple Dutch and international pole dance champion. Since beginning the discipline in 2011, she has taught, performed, and worked as a judge for pole art across five continents and more than 70 countries. In addition to her solo projects, she has collaborated creatively with figures such as Jared Leto, FKA Twigs, and Sevdaliza, among others. She currently tours her one-hour solo show POLES (Corpo Màquina) and is part of Rhythm and Flow by the ISH Dance Collective.

Chris i Iris met and studied at the Academy for Circus and Performance Art of Tilburg in the Netherlands. They have performed worldwide with renowned companies such as Cirque Éloize and Cirkus Cirkör. The duo has received numerous awards, including a silver medal at the Festival Mondial du Cirque de Demain in Paris. In 2019 they premiered Common Ground as co-founders of their company. Since 2021 they have performed GAP of 42, shown over 200 times in more than 12 countries. Their new production V_RST_LL_NG premiered in autumn 2024.

Emiliano Alessi trained at the Escola de Circ Criollo in Buenos Aires, the Escola Rogelio Rivel (specializing in acrobatic lifts), the Studio Lido, and the CDC Centre Chorégraphique de Danse Contemporaine. For twenty years he has been creating and directing circus and street performances worldwide. He has more than 1,000 performances in street festivals across his five creations, and over 500 performances of his horizontal juggling act presented with Vertebra Dansa.

La Companyia PakiPaya was founded in 2008 by Noemí Díaz and Adrià Mascarell, creators, directors, and performers who blend circus, theatre, and humour into a distinctive style. Their multidisciplinary shows, specializing in aerial performance, aim to move and surprise audiences of all kinds.

Teo Martin Rubio is a circus artist specialized in hair suspension, straps, and rope. He discovered contemporary circus in Paris while studying political science at Université Paris 8. From this encounter between popular, marginal art and contemporary, subversive performance, he trained in Chinese acrobatic theatre in Montreuil. In 2019 he specialized for two years at FLIC Scuola di Circo in Turin. In 2022 he began working with circus and theatre companies in France. Since 2023 he has been based in Barcelona, where he also teaches straps at Escola de Circ Rogelio Rivel and other centres. He also develops research on movement within his hair suspension practice.
