CONHORT

Hotel Iocandi Company

Tuesday, July 21 · 20:30h
Courtyard of the Tortosa Museum

Synopsis

Conhort is a small refuge. A poetic and tragicomic performance that explores the idea of comfort and consolation through a delicate and profound perspective on human relationships. The show combines circus arts, movement, and a circular stage structure that embraces the audience, inviting them to take an active part. Conhort gives voice to noise, fragility, and the beauty of shared existence. An ode to our shortcomings, because they make us equal, allowing us to recognize ourselves as content within a nest of losers.

Biography

Hotel Iocandi is a company formed by Griselda Juncà and Tomeu Amer. It was founded in early 2012 when they reunited in Barcelona after completing their training at the Rogelio Rivel Circus School and The National Centre for Circus Arts in London. From this reunion and their shared desire to merge their artistic interests and circus disciplines emerged the performance Esquerdes (“Cracks”), which premiered in 2015 at the Trapezi Fair in Reus and was created together with Joana Gomila.
